April 26: Workers Memorial Day 2019 (Raleigh)

April 26 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Join us at 10 AM Friday, April 26th in Raleigh for a press conference and solemn memorial service during which participants will toll a bell 183 times – once for each person in North Carolina who died while working for a better life in 2017 – and will call for the state Department of Labor to do more to prevent workplace injuries and fatalities.

What: Solemn memorial service and press conference

When: Friday, April 26, 2019, at 10:00 AM

Where: North Carolina State Capitol (south pad/Morgan St.), 1 E. Edenton Street, Raleigh, NC 27601

Why: Safe jobs are the right of every worker, and the 183 people who died on the job in 2017 – the most recent year for which the total count of workplace fatalities is known – is evidence that the NC Dept. of Labor must do more to protect working people

Attire: Please wear black to honor the dead
