Eddie Cisneros came to the U.S. with his mother as a child for a chance to have a better life. He has been blind since childhood, but has not let anything stop him from continuing his dreams. As a DACA recipient — one of 800,000 young people brought to the U.S. as children — he is unsure of what tomorrow holds.
In the midst of all of the uncertainty, Eddie has been making music. His cover of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” is unique because it’s a one man show. There was a total of 10 tracks in which Eddie sang every vocal tone and played every instrument to make one song.
It took him 3 years to master everything he needed to learn to make this cover possible and 3 hours to record the entire thing.
Eddie hopes that when people hear his doo-wop version of the song, that they get a sense of hope.
