Tell Us Why YOU Believe in Uniting NC
Uniting NC is running an ongoing multimedia project that puts a human face on immigration, and shows why so many of us care about welcoming our new immigrant neighbors … and we need your help.
The idea is to take a picture of yourself holding a hand-written sign saying why you support (care about, value and respect) immigrants to North Carolina. If you are an immigrant, tell us why you chose to make North Carolina home or why you appreciate living here.
It only takes a couple minutes of your time. And all you need is a marker, a sheet of paper (bigger is better), and a digital camera! Once you take the picture, just email it to us at kristin@unitingnc.org.
Some pictures will then be selected to be incorporated into a video montage like this one. Others will be posted on our website or Facebook page.
Two Tips to Make a Great Sign
Feel free to say what moves you personally and to speak from your own personal experience.
Try to write BIG and keep it to as few words as possible. To be readable as a small picture (especially in a rotating video), it really can’t be more than a few words.
